  • Each factor has it own weightage.

  • The total possible score is 100%

  • Once you get to 80%, you’ll be going on your first solo mission. If that goes well, then you’re done :)

  • Example: Trainee 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 are ready.

 

Meticulous

  • This means ZERO error from setting up to launching off.

  • Setting up, Just follow the checklist, any items missing here would cause lots of problems out at sea.

  • Launching off, do not damage anything launching off, it would delay the starting time of the trip.

  • Remember the 3 main things for both your kayak and your guest, Drive, Rudder, Wheels

  • (Concise) Its not a lecture. keep it within 7 minutes.

 

Interaction

  • Ability to do a straight line navigation to our fishing spots (shortest possible path)

  • Ability to put you your guest on the fishing spot, (helping them or giving them clear instructions on how to come to you and slow down directly above the spot)

 

Time on Spot

  • Maximise Effective Fishing Ratio

  • =Time on fishing spot/total time of trip

  • keep the fishing on the fishing spots as much as possible, once they are off the spot, ask them to reel in and reset the drift.

 

Commentary

  1. Good content, you can read up on this from the route information page

  2. Good story telling, weave the information into interesting stories.

  3. Delivery the commentary at suitable timing: when moving from fishing spot to fishing spot. if it’s a commentary about a fish that is caught, then you can give a commentary about that too.

  • You need to know your fishing stuff to be a professional fishing guides

  • When you are out there, your guest are looking to you as the fishing expert. So you have to be one.

  • know your knots

  • perfect your fishing technique

  • Go fishing! Clock your fishing hours, go to a pond, buy your own rod, go boat fishing with the fever guides, borrow fever’s kayak and go kayak fishing

  • Know how to use your fish finder.
